My Favourite Streamers

One of my favourite sim racing streamers

Matt Malone

Matt MaloneMatt Malone. What can be said about Matt Malone?

Well, first of all, he always seems to be happy, has no problem when it comes to talking, and is a streamer who has a very large following.

He has a wife, Samantha, and two young daughters, and you sometimes see them making an appearance while he’s streaming.

You couldn’t say Matt is a quiet person, but he is fun and entertaining to watch and listen to and there’s rarely a dull moment during his streams.

If I had a list of my favourite streamers, Matt would definitely be in the top two!

He also uploads a lot of the races he takes part in during his streams to his YouTube channel so you can also watch him there.

Matt has a great sense of humour and is rarely stuck for something to say. I am sure he must have down moments like everyone else, but you would never think so from his streams. He gives the impression he is always happy and it would be almost impossible to come away from one of his streams with anything but a smile on your face.

Matt joined iRacing many years ago and has been streaming for a long time, and long may it continue.

He has a dedicated sim room (in his basement) at home which he recently renovated to a great standard. It took him a few days to complete and streamed throughout the remodelling and decoration. He even made the live streams of his redecorating entertaining and very watchable.

One race that Matt takes part in every year is the iRacing 12 hour endurance at the Mount Panorama circuit at Bathurst in Australia. The only difference for Matt is that he does the whole 12 hours by himself. The team name he enters under is Matt Alone.

Because the regulations state there must be at least two drivers per team, Matt knows that, however well he does in the race, he is going to be disqualified at the end. But this is all part of the challenge for him.

About a year ago he quit his job as a concrete and materials inspector to become a full-time streamer.

He is now sponsored by sim racing equipment maker, Asetek. Something he announced to his followers in a video he made where he was dressed up as ‘Asetek Man’.

Incidently, and by coincidence, some of my sim equipment, the wheel hub and steering wheel, is Asetek. A company I can highly recommend.

I can also highly recommend watching and listening to Matt Malone. I’d be very surprised if you didn’t enjoy his streams.
