A look at some of the sim racing eqipment available today…

My Rig & Equipment

May 9, 2025

I have the SimLab P1-X chassis. It is heavy and completely stable which is what you want from a rig.

My pedals are the Heusinkveld Sprints. They are very configurable using the included software and feel good under foot.

The steering wheel hub and steering wheel are from Asetek. They are from the Forte range: the hub is 18nm in strength and the wheel is formula style.

My main monitor (I don’t have the space for triples at the moment) is a Samsung 34” ultrawide screen. It has a resolution of 3440 x 2440 at 165hz and 1ms response time.

I do have a fourth monitor (actually, it’s a second monitor for me) which sits at an angle above the ‘centre’ screen and is used mainly for stats and overlays.

It is a Samsung 27” widescreen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 60hz and 1ms response time.

I have a button box by SimRacing4U which is fitted to the side of the rig.

My seat is a converted racing style office chair that has the legs removed so it can be fitted to the rig.

This has a reclining back and a fairly flat seat which makes it easier for me to get in and out of.

And to enhance the look a little I have indulged in some mood LED lighting fitted to the underside of the rig.

A rig and its equipment can always be improved and upgraded. No matter how high-end and brilliant your sim gear is, there is always something better and more expensive. It can be a never-ending pot of desire and money.

Overall, though, I am very pleased with the equipment I have and consider myself very lucky indeed to have such a rig.
